Setup budget

Price a working setup.

Use current quotes for each component. Leave a field at zero when it is already included in the machine package.

Enter quoted costs to calculate the complete setup.

Avoid counting the package twice

If the machine quote includes a table and motor, put that full amount under machine and leave those separate fields at zero. If it is a head-only listing, enter the stand, motor and assembly costs separately. Shipping may also differ between an assembled workstation and boxed components.

Contingency is an optional planning allowance on the subtotal you enter, including tax and shipping. It is not a tax calculation, financing offer or estimate of what a repair will cost. The tool does not fetch live product prices. Verify the seller’s final itemized total before committing.

Budget for the first useful sample

The cheapest setup is not necessarily the one that reaches a usable stitch at the lowest total cost. Include the correct needle system, appropriately sized thread, spare bobbins and any feet confirmed for the machine. A technician’s setup or a dealer demonstration may answer questions that a box of speculative accessories cannot.
